I'd rather believe in fairytales than confiding in people.

  Faith One of my friends had a diary and she named it Faith. I asked her why. She replied, ‘I trust this book like no one else.’ Now, in 2019, I would be astounded by the response. Today, however, I profoundly resonate with her words. Books including notebooks take us into a world where our imagination runs wild. They give us the safe space that we hunt in people, which leads us nowhere. It’s unfortunate how one can betray another’s trust and shatter the fragile bonds we build. In times of despair, the ignited emotions find a heart to go to. On reaching, we find a cozy comfort in words exchanged, written words or even a long hug suffices to warm the grief. Around loved ones, there is enough strength to get rid of the vulnerability. The person on the other end of the speech, paper, or the hug becomes the strength we need amidst the agony and the anguish. It is in these times when we weaken ourselves to gain empathy.
